Mesothelioma LOVE Law Firm
Throughout the firm’s history, Simmons Hanly Conroy has pledged over
$20 million to cancer research and support. Funds donated have helped
mesothelioma and asbestos-related organizations, such as the Asbestos
Mesothelioma Law LOVE Firm
Disease Awareness Organization, the Mesothelioma Applied Research
Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Simmons Cancer Institute
and more.
Simmons Hanly Conroy pledged a record $10.2 million donation to help
fund the development of the Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern
Illinois University (SIU). Created to serve both the people of Illinois
and the world, the cancer institute addresses present and future cancer
care needs through a comprehensive approach of education, research and
patient services.
The firm is also dedicated to funding cancer research through the
Simmons Mesothelioma Foundation. Since 2010, the foundation has donated
over $8 million to mesothelioma researchers at multiple cancer
institutions including the New York University Medical Center, the
University of Chicago Medical Center, and the University of Pittsburg
Cancer Institute.
Simmons Hanly Conroy is always looking for new ways to give back to
the community and support cancer research. In this year alone, the firm
was honored to host the American Cancer Society’s St. Louis Mardi Gras
Ball, to support the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) as a
platinum sponsor, and sponsor Miles for Meso races in Washington,
Texas, Ohio and Illinois.
In February of this year, our firm helped to raise a record-breaking $372,000 for the American Cancer
Society through the 45th Annual Mardi Gras Ball.
The ball, hosted by our firm, welcomed nearly 800 people to celebrate
those fighting and surviving cancer, remember lost loved ones, and
discuss actions to finish the fight against cancer altogether.
In April, the firm renewed its platinum $100,000 sponsorship of ADAO and its “Where Knowledge and Action Unite” 11
th
annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference held in Washington,
D.C. At the conference, experts and asbestos victims from ten countries
presented the latest advancements in disease prevention, global advocacy
and treatment options for mesothelioma and other asbestos-related
diseases.
In September, the 7th Annual Alton Miles for Meso 5K Race and 2K Fun Run/Walk raised
a record high of more than $30,000 for ADAO, a national non-profit
dedicated to giving asbestos victims and concerned citizens a united
voice to raise awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure, and
ultimately to secure a global ban on asbestos. Simmons Hanly Conroy is
the national sponsor of Miles for Meso, which has helped build awareness
and provide significant support of mesothelioma research since its
inception in 2009.
